Time? Please. URWERK's UR-10 tracks Earth's cosmic movement.

Independent Swiss watchmaker URWERK once again pushes the boundaries of mechanical imagination with its latest creation, the UR-10 SpaceMeter. At first glance, this watch is a mystery. The round case, central hands, neatly arranged concentric subdials—these details might seem a bit too elegant for a brand known for breaking conventions. But that's precisely its allure: beneath this seemingly traditional exterior lies one of the most avant-garde watchmaking masterpieces in recent years. The UR-10 remains a URWERK signature—bold, unconventional, and challenging. It's part of the brand's "Special Projects" series, a creative playground where the impossible becomes possible.

However, there's a twist: the UR-10 SpaceMeter doesn't actually tell time as you might imagine. It measures space. It doesn't count hours or seconds; it tracks the distance Earth travels through the universe. Subdials aren't designed to time workouts or track laps, but rather to measure Earth's journey. At 2 o'clock, the counter labeled "EARTH" records the Earth's movement for every ten kilometers it rotates on its axis, in increments of 500 meters. At 4 o'clock, the "SUN" counter tracks the distance Earth travels in its orbit around the sun, in 20-kilometer increments, up to a maximum of 1,000 kilometers. At 9 o'clock, the "ORBIT" counter combines two movements, recording each 1,000-kilometer rotation and 64,000-kilometer revolution.
