Facing the Illuminate calls for a loadout that balances personal firepower with useful squad support. A weapon may feel comfortable on its own, but missions can become much harder when your equipment lacks the tools to handle different situations. In Helldivers 2, building a reliable setup means choosing the right combination of Warbond weapons, grenades, armor, and Stratagems. Understanding how Helldivers 2 Medals and Requisition Slips are spent will also help you avoid delaying important unlocks while working toward your preferred equipment.

Understand Which Items Need Warbond Progression

The LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle is available on Page 1 of the Servants of Freedom Warbond for 35 Medals. It is one of the earlier items in this recommended equipment list, so players interested in the weapon can start by checking whether they have access to the Warbond and enough Medals to purchase it.

The GP-20 Ultimatum is located on Page 2 of Servants of Freedom and costs 40 Medals. Obtaining both weapons through the same Warbond can make your progression easier to organize. Rather than spending Medals as soon as you earn them, decide which weapon you want first and check the remaining page requirements before making your next purchase.

Expand Your Options With a Grenade and Armor

Several useful Stratagems can be obtained with Requisition Slips through Ship Management. The A/MG-43 Machine Gun Sentry costs 1,500 Requisition Slips in the Robotics Workshop section. Its automated fire can support your squad while you concentrate on movement, objectives, or other incoming enemies.

The Gatling Barrage costs 1,500 Requisition Slips and appears in the Orbital Cannons section. The Eagle Airstrike, meanwhile, costs 4,000 Requisition Slips and is found in the Hangar. Together, these options give you access to different types of offensive support. Your final selection should reflect the mission and your squad's needs rather than simply including every available Stratagem.

Work Toward the GR-8 Recoilless Rifle

The GR-8 Recoilless Rifle becomes available at Level 5 and costs 6,000 Requisition Slips. It is purchased through the Patriotic Administration Center section of Ship Management. Since this unlock has a level requirement as well as a currency cost, players who have only recently started should focus on gaining experience before expecting to complete the loadout.

Make Your Resources Work Harder

You do not need to unlock every item immediately to begin building a capable Illuminate setup. Start with the Stratagems that offer the most value for your preferred approach, then collect the Warbond rewards that complement them.
