Noticed a small puddle under my 5 Series, how worried should I be?

I came out to my car this morning and there was a small patch on the ground, dark and slightly oily looking, just behind the front wheel. It's not pouring out or anything, but I know from past experience that a small leak on a BMW can turn into an expensive conversation very quickly if you ignore it. I've been reading around and came across https://bmw-garage.ae/leak-repair/, which seems to focus speci****lly on tracking down where the leak is actually coming from rather than just topping up fluids and sending you on your way. I'm trying to figure out whether I should get it looked at straight away or if a small drip is something I can watch for a week. Has anyone dealt with this on an N20 or similar engine, and was it something simple like a gasket or did it turn into a bigger job? I'd rather catch it early than wait until I'm smelling burning oil at a traffic light.
